[Influencenews I Hyeseon LEE, Correspondent] Collision (Carnival for Entrepreneurs) announced the first 100 speakers for the upcoming event running from June 22 to 25 in the Enercare Centre. In total, the conference said over 900 leading CEOs, founders, and government leaders will be the speaker of Collision Conference 2020.
“Our first year in Toronto was far and beyond what we had hoped for, but we were only scratching the surface,” said Paddy Cosgrave, founder, and CEO of Web Summit, the group behind Collision. He added, “Our second year is going to be even bigger and better than any other year.”
The first year of Collision’s residency in Toronto took place in May 2019, with organizers noting that it was seven times larger than Collison 2018 in New Orleans, which surpassed the size of Web Summit in the size of its space and sold out showcase floor.
Collision noted that it expects the number of attendees to grow this year to 30,000 attendees. Last year drew in a variety of attendees with speakers that spanned Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Seth Rogen, and Kara Swisher, editor at Recode.
For its second year for Collision, a list of the speakers includes from tech, automotive, literary, and retail industries: Tobias Lütke of Shopify, Sidewalk Labs CEO Dan Doctoroff, Uber CTO Thuan Pham, and co-founder and CEO of Mailchimp Ben Chestnut.
“There are lots of tech speakers but it’s increasingly important to have different voices from old established companies like Cadillac alongside new-age voices like Rupi Kaur, Canadian poet, and author,” said Cosgrove.
Collision is in its seventh year and created by the team behind Web Summit, the world’s largest tech event. Previously held in the US, it attracts CEOs of the world’s largest companies, founders of exciting startups, leading investors, and media from more than 120 countries.
